Daddy-Daughter Snow Day!

Libby and Daddy are in the midst of the best kind of snow day--the Daddy-Daughter-Friday-So-It's-A-Long-Weekend-Snow Day! So far, so good. Libby slept in until almost 5:30 a.m. (note Dad's sarcasm). After a wake-up bottle of milk, Libby decided to kick back and eat her Cheerios like a hillbilly. As you can see, mission accomplished! Following her morning relaxation, Libby and Dad played, and then Libby took a 90 minute nap.
After a long nap, Libby had a hotdog (heathen!) and sweet potatoes for lunch. For dessert, Libby went with a nice, long, warm bath. She slipped into some comfy clothes (a.k.a. fat pants), and is totally couching the rest of the day. All that's left on the schedule is an afternoon nap and the U.S.-Finland hockey game. Sounds like a pretty good way to spend a Friday!

Um, Best Day Ever!

So, what do you do on a Sunday afternoon in late February when you're pretty much sick and tired of winter and cold and snow? Go swimming, natch! Libby, Mom and Dad went swimming at the Fairview Rec Center for Mom's Aunt Kathy's birthday party (how cool is it that an adult throws herself a pool party?!?!). Libby loved every single second of her time in the pool. Unlike last summer, she was able to stand up in the very shallow end and she really splashed and played. Most of all, Libby enjoyed the bubble pool, whirlpool and the lazy river. Judging by all the oohs, ahs and smiles, this was easily Libby's Best Day Ever!

One Year Check Up

Libby's One Year Check-Up was today, and she passed with flying colors! Libby weighs 26 lbs. 6 oz. and is 30 5/8 inches tall. So, in one year, she grew 10 inches and gained 18 pounds. At that rate, by her tenth birthday, she'll 12 feet tall and weigh 200 pounds! Aside from the two shots, Libby had a great President's Day at home with Mom and Dad. She tired out Dad, chasing him all over the house, and she had grilled cheese and French-cut green beans for dinner--a first for both. Because it was President's Day, Libby did spend some time thinking about her favorite president, Ronald Reagan. Libby also played with all her new toys that she got at her big birthday bash. Pictures coming soon!

Birthday Dance Party!

Libby's first birthday was quite a momentous occasion. Details and pictures to follow after her big party next week. On her actual birthday, Libby hung out with family, took a nice long bath (her favorite), went sledding with Dad (fun for Libby and Dad, not so for Mommy), and hosted her very own birthday dance party! We are not sure from where Libby got her killer dance moves. Wherever she got them, we all hope she doesn't inherit her Aunt Holly's laugh!
