So far, 2011 is off to a good start for Libby and Mary. With lots of snow on the ground, there's been plenty of opportunities for Libby to go sledding and play in the snow. While Libby did go sledding once last winter, this has really been her first go-round in the snow. Judging by the tantrum she threw when it was time to come in, playing in the snow clearly ranks high on Libby's list of most fun things to do.

Actually, Libby pretty much has it made. She plays in the snow for a while, then she plops herself down in the sled and waits (not so) patiently for Dad to drag her to the park and up the hill before sledding on down. When she gets to the bottom, does she get out and walk back up? No chance. She must be dragged up the hill once again. Such the life!

Over the long MLK weekend, Libby and Mary spent lots of time with Claire, Corinne and Declan. After a visit to their house on Saturday, everyone came over on Sunday for a pancake breakfast, sledding and hot chocolate. Even Aunt Reen and Papa got in on the act and went flying down the hill a few times!

Of course, Mary and Declan were stuck in the house, but they got along just great. They pretty much have the same hobbies--bouncing, drooling and napping. This could be the start of a beautiful friendship! When the rest of the clan came in, it was time for "Toy Story 3", chicken nuggets, and crazy time in the big pink hippo tent. Good times!

It's been amazing to see how much Libby and Mary have changed in the last few weeks. Libby is repeating everything, and by "everything", we mean "everything." Note to self, watch your language! Seriously though, Libby is able to verbalize what she wants instead of just pointing and grunting, she is able to tell us when her "ear hurts" and she is very clear about when it's time to "eats". Mary, on the other hand, gets taller every day, is doing a great job sleeping at night, and on Sunday had her first try at baby food. We'll have to revisit that at a later date!
