Libby's Baptism
Libby in her baptismal gown
Elizabeth Margaret was baptized on Saturday, April 25 after the 4:30 mass at St. Patrick Church on Bridge Avenue. This is the same church at which Mom and Dad were married. Libby wore the same gown Dad, Uncle Tony and Aunt Holly wore for their baptisms. Aunt Reen and Uncle Tony were the godparents. Libby was very well behaved until the very end, when she could no longer wait to eat.

Finally!
While Miss Libby is a smiley and happy girl in the mornings (she does not take after her mother in this particular personality trait) and at other various times throughout the day, until this morning, there had never been any conclusive photographic evidence of this. All that changed when Mom and Dad finally figured out a way to out smart their 10-week-old daughter. One would think that two intelligent adults would have been able to figure this out sooner. No such luck. Now that we have the technology and know how to capture Libby's happy times, hopefully there will be more pictures of her beautiful smile!Thursday, April 16, 2009
Spring Break Libby
As the picture shows, Libby likes sitting up on the couch. Her neck is getting stronger, so Libby likes to sit up and look around. She is always checking out her surroundings, trying to take in everything. And, to the delight of Mom and Dad, Libby has taken a liking to sleeping at night. Last night, she slept from 9 until 7!

Opening Day

Libby spent Opening Day with Grandma and Grandpa Hanna, while Mom and Dad went to the game. All told, Libby got the better end of the deal--she stayed dry and wasn't subjected to the horror that is Indians Baseball. If she did see some of the game, she can be thankful that she will have no memory of it.

Hey, Guess What I Found!
So, thus far in Libby's short life (two months old today!), she has not been a nuk (read: pacifier) kinda girl. She will take it if Mom or Dad really forces the issue, but, she has never really gone looking for it. So, imagine our surprise on Friday when Miss Libby discovered the the tasty treat that is her thumb. Since her momentous discovery, whenever her hand comes anywhere near her mouth, she tries to jam the whole fist in there, before finally settling on the thumb (it's great to see the expression of absolute wonder on her face--it's as if everytime she finds her thumb, it's the first time!). It makes feeding her somewhat challenging, as she wants to have bottle and thumb at the same time. What makes her thumb-sucking even more amusing than the sounds she makes, is the fact that while one hand is in the mouth, the other is on her ear. It makes for a humorous scene. . .especially if you've ever seen Disney's "Robin Hoo
d". Prince John, anyone? I know thumb-sucking isn't the best thing in the world, and we certainly aren't encouraging it (okay, so maybe Mom isn't), but Libby has been very happy these last few days. And, even better, she's averaging between six and seven consecutive hours of sleep!
