Libby's I-Can-Get-Anything-I-Want-With-This-Face Face

The word around the Yandek Household lately has been "sick." Between Libby and Mary, there have been ears that were infected, noses that were runny and stomachs with viruses. It goes without saying that things have been pretty sloppy. Unfortunately, because of the sickness, the fam had to cancel a trip to Rochester to visit Uncle Tony. While everyone was disappointed, at least he was here the weekend before for Papa's 60th Birthday Party!

Libby had great time at the party, eating cupcakes, cookies and bowling for the first time! She did her best to push that big ball down the lane. If we had to guess, however, it stands to reason that she probably got sick from all the time she spent laying on the ground and touching all the bowling balls and shoes. Oh well, kids get sick, right? Despite all the sickness, Mary has been as smiley as ever. And she continues to grow. As the picture shows, she is quite comfortable in her car seat--no more pumpkin seat for Mary. Along with being sick, she also got her first tooth to pop through. Slowly but surely, she's catching up to her big sister.

Speaking of big sister, she is becoming more adventurous by the second. Libby climbs all over everything, trying crazy stunts like putting her stool on the couch and then trying to balance herself without falling. She loves it. Libby is also going up and down the stairs at will, and faster than Mom and Dad can keep up with her. There have been more than a few occasions where Libby just "disappears" into thin air, only to be found hiding in a corner upstairs...

Libby has also become infatuated with Swiper the Fox. Everything she sees, she worries that Swiper is going to take it from her. So, in the middle of dinner, without warning, she'll yell out "No, Swiper. No applesauce!" Or, driving home, she'll scream "No, Swiper. No car!" The good thing about the past few days is that Dad has been on Spring Break, so there has been lots of quality time with Dad and the girls. The only negative is that a lot of this quality time has been in the middle of the night, as Libby has taken to waking up in the middle of the night REFUSING to go back to sleep. It's been a challenge to say the least.
