Almost There!

As Libby approaches her first birthday, the changes she displays and the milestones she achieves are really starting to add up. Now, Mom and Dad might be crazy (they've been accused of this before), but they are pretty sure that Libby officially said her first word today. There have been times when it sure sounded like Libby said "hi" to someone. This morning, however, when Dad came home from putting gas in Mom's car, Libby pointed and said "hi." Then later at daycare, as soon as Libby got there, she crawled up to the dog and dropped another "hi". So, while it may be wishful thinking, it sure seems like Libby is saying "hi" on purpose.
As Libby is crawling all over the house, she is doing her best to get into just about everything. She will grab on to anyone or anything to pull herself up. She thoroughly enjoys pressing the buttons on the cable box--it didn't take her long to figure out she was turning the TV off and on. (It's a very good thing this didn't happen during Browns season. It's not so bad when Brett Favre's on TV.) Libby also enjoys chasing her soccer ball all over the place; occasionally she'll sit on the floor and play catch with Mom or Dad.

Libby has also been adding to her list of sampled foods. Yesterday, she enjoyed pancakes at The Original Pancake House. To answer the eternal question--pancakes or waffles?--Libby would clearly choose the former. She is doing extremely well feeding herself and chewing her food. She has also taken to drinking water from her sippy cup (with straw!). It's amazing how much she's grown in a year...
