So although the weather reports called for thunder and lightning, the weekend turned out to be a picture-perfect summer weekend. Libby and Mary took full advantage, cramming in all all sorts of summer fun into a couple days. On Saturday, Libby and Mary made their second and first trips, respectively, to Memphis Kiddie Park. While Mary was limited to one ride on the Merry-Go-Round, Libby pretty much had her way with the place.

Libby's favorite ride easily was the jeeps. She absolutely loved it when she would get spun around by the ride attendant. Each time she came around, Libby got a huge smile on her face in anticipation of the big spin. Libby also got her fill of the rockets that flew through the air, and was even coaxed onto the Little Dipper--her first official go-round on a roller coaster. While she really had no idea what was going on, she did pretty well until she realized that it went around twice. When Dad asked if she wanted to ride again, her simple response was: "No, Daddy!" Libby also got her first taste of funnel cake, as she shared some of the fried goodness with Grandma Yandek, Mom and Dad.

On Sunday, the good weather continued, so Libby and Dad spent time in the park riding the swings, playing on the slides, and even flying Libby's Sesame Street kite on the sledding hill. After spending time in the hot sun, Libby and Dad walked up to Webber's for some mint chocolate chip custard--Libby's all-time favorite. While Libby might be the world's messiest eater, she managed to devour her cone without spilling a single drop!
