Weekends: Summer Funner Than Others!

The last two weekends have been pretty great for the Yandek Family. Memorial Day weekend is always the official kick-off of Summer, and Libby and Mary did not disappoint. Last year was a huge letdown, as Libby was sick for the entirety of Memorial Day weekend with--wait for it--an ear infection. Really?!?! Mom and Dad couldn't believe it either. This year was much better, with Libby more than making up for last...
Saturday, especially was a big day, as Libby and Mary went to see the "aminals" at the zoo for the first time this year. It was exciting to see the giraffes, monkeys and elephants. Even more exciting was seeing cousins Claire, Corinne and Declan, who just happened to be there at the same time! While Libby couldn't contain her excitement at all the sights and smells--"Rhinos are stinky! Rhino pooped!"--Mary was more than happy to chill out in her crib. The trip to the zoo ended with Libby's all-time favorite meal: nuggets and french fries!
That afternoon, after one tantrum and two good naps, the fam headed to the Berea Rib Cook-Off. Let's just say this wasn't Libby's (or Mommy's) cup of tea. The weather was good, the food was great, and the sights were...interesting. Not much for kids to do, but Libby was mollified with her own helping of Dippin' Dots. Sunday was spent at Uncle Jerry's playing in the bounce house with Claire and Corinne. And on Monday, Libby and Dad walked up to the Memorial Day parade in the morning, and in the afternoon, Libby and Mary went to Grammie and Papa Yandek's for another cook-out and some fun splash time in the kiddie pool.
The following weekend wasn't quite as action packed (Daddy had to work Friday night and all day Saturday), but there was still fun times to be had. Libby went to work with Dad for a couple hours on Saturday. She had fun checking out all the statues and bugs and fish and dirt at Camp Christopher. On Sunday, Libby went to see "Go Tribe" with Mom and Dad at Progressive Field. Being that the first pitch was scheduled for 1:05--or in our house, Nap Time-- it's no surprise Libby only made it through three innings. She maximized her time, however, as before the game, Libby colored a Chief Wahoo picture, danced with robots, and petted a turtle and some snakes. During the game, she managed to get in some popcorn, a hot pretzel, ice cream and a high five from Slider!
